Funding Opportunities

DFI Title XX Camping Services Program Funding

For over 50 years, the DFI Title XX Camping Services Program has provided funding for over 250,000 Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) clients. The goal? Working to disrupt poverty and transform the lives of young people through accessible, summer camp experiences.

How It Works

This is a “match” or “cost share” funding program, meaning that your camp or agency agrees to cover a set portion of the funded total cost. The portion covered by your camp/agency is referred to as a cash match. The other portion of the match or cost share funds come from the American Camp Association, Illinois via IDHS.

How Do I Qualify?

Use the chart below to determine if you and your camp/agency qualifies for this funding:

How Do I Know if the Campers I Serve Quality?

That’s easy. To qualify, your campers must:

  1. Be age 5 to 17 years of age;
  2. Receive TANF, Medicaid, or SNAP benefits from the State of Illinois; and
  3. Be a resident of the State of Illinois.
