About the Executive Seminar/FAQs

What is the Executive Seminar?

The Executive Seminar is designed to strengthen and further develop executive level skills that are transferable across all organizations and companies.

What does ACA Illinois Consider an Executive Level Skill?

ACA Illinois considers an Executive Level Skill to be a combination of skills that are demonstrated/used in an executive level position. These may include high-level finance, customer service, strategic planning, governance, fund development, people development, organizational change, and more.

What is Considered an Executive in this Context?

Every organization titles their positions differently. For the context of the Executive Seminar, executives typically meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Is the CEO/Executive Director or owner of the organization/company or an equivalent position, OR
  • Has direct involvement in organizational decision making on matters related to goals, strategic planning, governance, finance, and/or funds development, OR
  • Aspires to work towards becoming an executive in the future.

Who should attend the Executive Seminar?

Current and aspiring executives of any organization, camp directors/owners, and managers. Please note that this program is designed for experienced professionals.

Who are the faculty?

Each year, ACA Illinois identifies faculty who are subject matter experts in their field and provide our attendees with current information that will increase their understanding and executive skills on the topic. Faculty must have extensive knowledge of their subject matter, documented experience & expertise as an executive within their subject matter, and be experienced with training/educating adult learners.

2022 Executive Seminar

Camp isn’t that much different from Disney World; the culture we build at our organizations is based on who you are, how you “do” the work, and how you serve campers and caregivers (i.e. your customers). And just like at Disney, Lee credits creating “magic” in our careers, organizations, and lives to four core concepts: leadership, customer service, culture, and management. In this exclusive, 2-day Executive Seminar, participants will explore the Disney Parks & Resorts Service Model, practical leadership strategies, and effective career advancement practices that Lee has established throughout his career.

Topics Included:

Gaining a deeper understanding of essential customer service philosophies and how we can apply them to our camps and organizations;

How to become outstanding, intentional leaders using real-life examples, time management tools, and common sense approaches that can help improve your recruitment strategies and enhance your employees performance and retention; and

Discovering key elements of planning for career advancement, including: juggling personal and professional expectations, and how to continue having a fulfilling and meaningful career that you’re passionate about.

Meet the 2022 Executive Seminar Faculty:

Lee retired after a career as the Executive Vice President of Operations for Walt Disney World Resort and holding additional positions with Disneyland Paris, Marriott, and Hilton. Lee is the best-selling author of four books on leadership, management, and world-class customer service. Click here to learn more about Lee!
